The rules, in plain words.

ONE. (getone.world) is a public internet experiment run by one person, referred to here as the operator. For one US dollar you receive a uniquely numbered digital certificate, generated from that number, with a public verification page. That is the entire product.

ONE. is not a company offering, not an investment, not a raffle, not a lottery, not a charity, and not a store of value. By paying, you confirm you understand this.

One numbered certificate per dollar, up to ten per payment. Numbers are issued strictly in the order payments clear. You get the artwork, a public page at getone.world/one/your-number, an email with the piece, and any future visual layers the experiment unlocks at published milestones.

Each certificate also carries cosmetic traits (a finish, a float, and in some cases a special-number badge) rolled from a sealed seed, with the odds published on the home page. Traits are cosmetic only. No trait, number or finish has, or is promised to have, any monetary value.

No ownership in anything. No share of revenue. No vote. No right to a refund of the dollar once the certificate is issued. No promise that the artwork will evolve, that any milestone will be reached, that the piece can be resold, traded, or transferred, or that it will ever be worth more than nothing.

The operator may describe ideas for the future (a larger project, a digital world, a token). Those are ideas, stated openly so nothing is hidden. None of them is a commitment, and no purchase should be made in expectation of them.

Revenue, minus payment processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, hosting and taxes, goes to the operator personally. This is stated before payment, on the home page, in the checkout and here. Aggregate figures (participants, gross, fees, refunds, net) are published on the site and updated as the experiment runs.

Payments are processed by Stripe. The operator never sees or stores card details. The certificate is a digital good delivered immediately on payment, so there is no voluntary refund once it has been issued, except where the law of your country requires one.

If a payment is refunded or disputed, the certificate is marked as reversed on its public page, is removed from every public count, and its number stays permanently retired. A reversed number is never reissued to anyone.

Every certificate is recorded in a public, hash-chained ledger at getone.world/ledger, and the chain tip is periodically anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps. The ledger publishes your certificate number, its seed and traits, the issue time, and a keyed hash of your email. It never publishes your email, name or payment details.

Do not present a certificate as proof of anything other than participation in this experiment. Do not sell or promote a ONE. certificate as an investment, a security, or something with guaranteed value. Do not attempt to forge certificates or interfere with the service. The operator may refuse or reverse payments that look fraudulent.

The ONE. name, logo, site and generative artwork belong to the operator. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display, download and share the artwork of your own certificate, including commercially in the sense of showing it off. You may not claim authorship of the system or reproduce the site.

The experiment may pause, change or end at any time. If it ends, issued certificates and their verification pages will be kept online for as long as reasonably possible, and the ledger will remain verifiable from its published anchors. These terms may be updated; the date at the top tells you when. Material changes will be announced on the site.

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from participation, including any value you believed a certificate might have. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

ONE. is operated by an individual based in Brazil. Legally required operator identification is available to authorities and to payment providers, and will be disclosed where the law requires it. For anything else, write to [email protected].
